Monitoring Suites are where you set up and run data quality assessments. Each suite groups the objects you want to check, the rules you want to apply, and the scan history that shows how checks have performed over time. This guide covers creating a suite, its tabs, the details sidebar, and scheduling scans.

Overview

A Monitoring Suite is the container for a data quality assessment. You add objects — the tables and datasets you want to check — assign evaluation rules to them, and run scans that score the data against those rules. Opening the Data Quality module takes you to the Monitoring Suite list, the place to create and manage suites for these assessments. The side navigation also gives you access to Business Ontology and Rules, where Detection Rules and Evaluation Rules live.

Creating a Suite and Reading the List

To create a suite, click New Monitoring Suite. The form only asks for a required Name and an optional Description. The list then shows each suite's Evaluation Rules, Objects, Terms, Scans, Last Scan Status, and Last Scanned On, with Edit and View Details on each row's menu.

If a suite hasn't run a scan since it was created, Last Scanned On shows a dash — hover it for audit details such as who created and last updated the suite, and when. Open the columns menu to reveal the hidden-by-defaault Created On and Last Updated By columns; your choice is remembered on future visits. Open any suite from the list to start adding objects and configuring rules.

Inside a Suite: The Objects and Scans Tabs

Opening a suite gives you two tabs: Objects, listing the monitored datasets, and Scans, showing run history and scores. A Start Scan button sits in the header for triggering a check on demand.

Both Start Scan and the details sidebar stay hidden until the suite has at least one object added — an empty suite shows the add-objects flow instead. Add and profile objects, assign rules, and the scan controls appear.

The Monitoring Suite Details Sidebar

The Objects tab includes a Monitoring Suite Details sidebar summarizing the suite at a glance:

  • A Copilot entry point

  • Rules Applied, by rule counts per quality dimension

  • Objects Added, the count of monitored datasets

  • Next Scheduled Run

  • Created By

  • Last Profiled On

This sidebar is the fastest way to check a suite's health without opening the Scans tab.

Scheduling Recurring Scans

Instead of running scans manually every time, schedule them to run automatically. In the sidebar, under Next Scheduled Run, select Click to set a schedule to open Define Schedule, where you set the intervals at which the evaluation is triggered.

Two scheduling methods are available:

  • Interval — set Operate Every to a number, then choose a Frequency of minutes, hours, days, weeks, or months, plus a start time. Weeks let you pick days of the week; months let you pick days of the month.

  • Cron expression — for schedules that don't fit a simple interval.

Once saved, the sidebar shows the cadence, such as "Operates every 2 hours", and the next run time, such as "Scheduled for 3:00 PM." Use the edit (pencil) icon to change it later. Scheduled scans appear in the scan history alongside manual ones.

Notes

  • A suite needs at least one object added before Start Scan or the details sidebar appears.

  • A dash under Last Scanned On just means no scan has run yet — it isn't an error.

  • Visible columns in the suite list are remembered for future visits.

  • Use a cron expression only when the built-in frequency options don't cover your case.
