Spending tracks and caps what the Enterprise Search agent costs, and lets you set alerts before it runs over.
Tracking Cost
The Spending tab shows the agent's current-month spend as a dollar amount. Once you set a limit, it also shows a usage percentage and a progress bar with markers for each alert threshold — if usage passes the limit, the indicator turns red and reads {usage}% Exceeded.
Setting a Spending Limit
You can set two kinds of monthly cap:

| Agent limit | A monthly cap on the Enterprise Search agent's total spending across all users, set with Add Limit / Edit Limit. |
| Per-user limit | A default monthly cap for each individual user, set with Add User Limit / Edit User Limit, distributing cost fairly. |
Leave the Monthly Spending Limit field empty to remove a limit. Limits save as soon as you set them.
Configuring Alerts
In Configure alerts, use Add New Alert to set the cost that triggers it, an Alert Interval, and thresholds for Critical, Warning, and Resolved status, each as a percentage of budget or a spending amount. Each threshold can trigger an action: Email, a platform Notification to chosen users or teams, a Custom action, or Undeploy Agent — which takes every live deployment of the agent down until you redeploy it. Pair Undeploy Agent with Critical, and Email or Notification with Warning, so you get a heads-up before the hard stop.
