Schema defines the person attributes the Enterprise Search people directory stores.
What the Schema Does
The schema is the set of fields the directory stores for each person — the attributes your search agent can use when it reasons about who someone is. The screen is headed People Schema, with a pill showing how many fields it has. Source fields map onto this schema, so keep it aligned with the data your connected sources actually provide. You need Edit permission on the People schema to open this screen.
Adding or Changing a Field
Hover over a field to see its actions:
Edit Field — change the field's properties.
Delete Field — remove the field.
Add Field — on a field that can hold nested fields, add a field inside it.
Your changes take effect only after you click Save.
Editing and Saving
Unlike most Enterprise Search admin screens, Schema does not auto-save: the header carries an explicit Save, and a Discard Changes button appears next to it as soon as you have unsaved edits. Use the header's Search to jump to a field by name, and on nested schemas, Expand all fields / Collapse all fields to navigate the structure.
