Test Agent checks the agent behind your company Enterprise Search — what it can access, and the answers it gives. It's a live chat panel you talk to directly before rolling changes out to everyone.

How do I test my Enterprise Search agent?

Open Test agent (under Agent preview in the admin side menu) to chat with the Enterprise Search agent and see how it answers with your current, unpublished configuration. To open the end-user search app itself, use Preview app in the header. Use Test agent to sanity-check answers, tone, citations, and tool use before you consider your configuration done. Test conversations are real runs — they create a session and traces like any user search — so you can open the trace immediately afterwards in Observability.

What can I see while testing?

Alongside the agent's reply, the test view shows its trace — the reasoning and tool calls it made to produce the answer. This is what makes testing useful for debugging: you can see which connectors it invoked, what knowledge it retrieved, and where an answer came from, then adjust the instructions, connectors, or indexed knowledge accordingly.
