Approving and Revising Plans

3 mins READ

Approving a plan is the moment building starts. This page covers how approval works, how plans change as you keep talking to the agent, and where to find earlier versions of a plan.

Overview

In Plan mode, the Solution agent stops after writing a plan and waits for your approval. In Auto mode it can approve its own plan and go straight to building, so you won't be asked. See Solution Chat Modes.

Approving a Plan

When the agent asks for approval, you can approve from either place:

  • The Plan card pinned above the message box in the chat panel.

  • The Approve & build bar at the bottom of the Plan tab.

Clicking Approve & build:

  1. Sends "Approved — go ahead and build it." to the agent as your message.

  2. Removes the approval button straight away.

  3. Switches you to the Preview tab so you can watch the app being built. See Previewing a Solution App.

If you approve while the agent is still busy, your approval is held and sent as soon as it finishes — as long as you stay in this chat. If you switch to another chat first, the held approval is dropped and you'll need to approve again. The agent only starts building once it's free.

When You Won't See Approve & Build

  • The chat is in Auto mode, where the agent approves its own plans.

  • The plan was already approved.

  • The agent is still working. The chat card returns when it finishes. Meanwhile, use the Approve & build bar on the Plan tab.

  • You're in a different chat from the one where the agent asked for approval. Approval requests belong to the chat that raised them.

  • The agent is waiting on something more urgent first — a connection request or clarifying questions take the pinned spot in the chat panel. The Plan tab's own Approve & build bar still works.

To change something instead of approving, just tell the agent in the chat — for example "Drop the reporting screen and add an approval step for managers." It writes a revised plan for you to review.

How Plans Change Over Time

Every request after the first can produce a revision of the plan. The Plan tab always shows the complete, up-to-date plan for the whole solution, while the chat shows what each revision changed.

Each revision the agent puts to you in Plan mode gets its own Approve & build. Once you've approved a plan, a Plan card with Review plan and count cards such as 3 objects, 4 screens or 2 workflows appear under your first approval in the chat. They always describe the current plan — click one to jump to that layer. When the latest revision changed only part of the plan, the counts sit under Changes in this revision. If the solution connects to outside apps, an applications card shows their logos.

Plan History

Every revision is kept. To see them, open the solution's details pages (from the solutions list, or the logo in the builder's chat panel) and select the Plan tab:

  • The status bar shows Approved only for the revision that is currently the solution's approved plan. Every other revision, including ones approved earlier, shows Draft. The bar also shows who wrote the revision and when it was last updated.

  • Plan history lists the 50 newest revisions across all chats, newest first, numbered v1, v2 and so on, with the newest marked Current. Click View to read an earlier one.

  • Download saves whichever revision you're viewing as a Markdown file.

On solutions created before plan history was introduced, older revisions may be missing. In that case the list isn't numbered, and a note says "Revisions from before this solution's plans were linked aren't listed."

An earlier revision shows what the agent proposed in that turn, so a revision that only changed a few things reads much shorter than the full plan.

Note: Only one revision is marked Approved at a time — the solution's latest approved plan. If the agent saved a newer plan after building, or you approved a later revision, the one you're viewing shows Draft.

FAQs

Can I approve a solution plan while the agent is still working?

Yes. Your approval is held and sent as soon as the Solution agent finishes its current response, as long as you stay in that chat. If you switch to another chat first, the held approval is dropped and you'll need to approve again.

Do I have to approve every change to a solution?

Only in Plan mode, and only when the Solution agent puts a revised plan to you. In Auto mode, the agent approves its own plans.

Where can I see earlier versions of a solution plan?

Open the solution's details pages and select the Plan tab. Plan history lists the 50 newest revisions, and View opens any of them. On solutions created before plan history was introduced, older revisions may be missing from the list.

Why does a built solution's plan show as Draft?

Only one revision is marked Approved at a time — the solution's latest approved plan. If the Solution agent saved a newer plan after building (which it can do in either mode), or you approved a later revision, the one you're viewing shows Draft.
