The chat panel is how you shape a solution: you describe what you want, the Solution agent plans and builds it, and you keep asking for changes until it's right.
Overview
Every request you make — add a screen, change a rule, fix a bug — is a message to the Solution agent. The agent shows its work in the conversation as it goes: what it's thinking, which tools it's using and what it built. In a new chat the panel reads "Describe what you want to build" — "The agent will plan it, then build it."
Sending a Message
Type in the box at the bottom of the chat panel — "Describe a change to the solution…" — and press Enter to send. Shift+Enter adds a new line.
Control | What it does |
|---|---|
Attach files (+) | Add files to your message. You can also drag files onto the chat panel or paste screenshots into it. |
Microphone | Dictate your message. Shown only in browsers that support speech recognition. |
Mode | Choose Auto or Plan for your next message. See Solution Chat Modes. |
Send / Stop | Sends your message. While the agent is working, the same button becomes Stop, which interrupts its response. |
The agent also knows which page of the app you're looking at in Preview, so you can say things like "make the button on this page bigger".
Attachment Limits
Attachment limits depend on the current Solution builder configuration. Check the attachment control for the limits that apply to your workspace.
A message with files must also include some text.
Sending waits until every file has finished uploading. A file that failed to upload is left out — use its retry button first.
Following the Agent's Work
While the agent works, its reasoning is grouped under a collapsible heading that reads Thinking…, then Thoughts once it's done, ending with a Done step. The activity panel shows the steps the agent is taking, such as reading instructions, checking connections, updating objects, or creating workflows:
Step | What the agent did |
|---|---|
Reading instructions | Read one of its built-in guides before doing a task. |
Checking connections | Looked up the app connections available to the solution. |
Updating objects | Created or updated an object, or read one. |
Creating workflows | Created a workflow. |
Running code | Ran code to check or prepare something. |
Checking workflows | Looked up the workflows it's working with. |
Using other tools | Used another tool, named in the step. |
When the agent delegates work, a progress indicator shows how many helper agents are running. After they finish, their results appear in the conversation.
For the full technical record of a conversation — timings, tokens and cost — see Solution Trace.
Sending Messages While the Agent Works
Where your environment supports it, you can keep typing while the agent is busy: the box reads "Queue a follow-up…" and your message waits in a Queue above the box until the agent finishes. From the queue you can Send now, Remove a message, drag messages to reorder them, pause the queue or clear it. Where queuing isn't available, wait for the agent to finish or click Stop.
When a Turn Fails
If the agent hits an error, the conversation shows a short bold summary of what went wrong, often with a suggestion for what to do next. When an Error ID is shown, use Copy error ID and include it if you contact support. If your own message fails to send, it's put back in the box and you'll see "Couldn't send your message. Please try again."
Other Ways to Talk to the Agent
Several actions elsewhere in the builder send a message to the agent for you:
Approve & build on a plan — see Approving and Revising Plans.
Send to agent on a comment you leave on the preview, and Fix with Agent or Continue on a preview error — see Previewing a Solution App.
Save on the Code tab, which asks the agent to rebuild with your changes — see Solution Code Tab.
