Chat modes decide whether the Solution agent stops to check its plan with you before building, or goes ahead on its own.
Overview
The mode pill sits next to the Send button in the chat panel, and on the create page when you start a solution. There are two modes:
Mode | Description | What happens |
|---|---|---|
Auto | "Let the agent decide" | The agent decides for itself whether a message needs planning or building. When it writes a plan, it can approve the plan itself and carry straight on to building — so you may not see an Approve & build button. |
Plan | "Discuss before building" | The agent discusses the request and proposes a plan, then stops and waits for you to approve it before building anything. |
Auto is the default.
Choosing a Mode
Pick a mode on the create page and it carries into the builder for that solution.
In the builder, change the pill at any time — even while the agent is working. The new mode applies to your next message.
All chats about a solution share the same mode. The platform never changes it for you.
Note: The mode is remembered in your browser for each solution. On a different browser or device, the solution starts in Auto until you change it there.
Which Mode to Use
Use Plan for a new solution or a big change, when you want to review what will be built — objects, screens and workflows — before the agent spends time building it. See Approving and Revising Plans.
Use Auto for small, clear changes such as wording, colours or a single field, where reviewing a plan would only slow you down.
The Model Behind the Chat
The model the agent builds with is chosen on the create page when the solution is created, and every message in every chat uses it. There's no model picker inside the builder. See Creating a Solution.
