The Preview tab runs the app the Solution agent built, live, inside the builder. Use it to try the app, leave comments for your team or the agent, make visual edits, and deal with build errors.
Overview
Preview becomes available once a plan is approved or the app exists. Until the first build finishes, it shows an animation while the agent builds. After that, the last working build stays on screen while the agent makes further changes, and the preview reloads by itself when a new build is ready — keeping you on the same page where it can.
Note: Preview always shows the app's main version. If the app is linked to a Git repository and the agent is working on another branch, the Code and Data sources tabs show that branch while Preview keeps showing main.
Caution: Preview runs the real app against your environment's live data. Interact mode isn't a sandbox — creating, updating or deleting records there really changes that data.
Preview Controls
Control | What it does |
|---|---|
Device size | Cycles the preview between Laptop (full width), Tablet and Mobile widths. |
Page switcher | Shows the page you're on. Click it to search the app's pages — "Find page or enter path" — or type a path and press Enter. Its Refresh button reloads the current page. |
Open preview in new tab | Opens the page you're looking at in a full browser tab — the easiest way to use it at full width or send someone a link. |
Interact / Comment / Edit | Switches what clicking the preview does. Click the active mode again to go back to Interact. |
Publish | Publishes the solution. See Publishing a Solution. |
These controls are disabled until the app has its first build.
Interact Mode
The default. Use the app exactly as your users would — click buttons, fill forms and move between pages.
Comment Mode
Leave notes pinned to parts of the app. Click an element to open a Comment card, write your note ("Add a comment…") and choose:
Add comment — pins the note for your team on that page.
Send to agent — sends the note to the Solution agent as a request. ⌘/Ctrl+Enter also sends.
Click a pin to open its thread: reply, Resolve it (which removes the pin), send the thread to the agent, or edit and delete individual messages. Press Esc to leave Comment mode.
You can always add comments, even while the agent is working. Sending one to the agent may have to wait until it finishes — the button explains why when it's unavailable.
Edit Mode
Make visual changes yourself. An edit panel opens beside the preview with two tabs:
Design — edit the selected element's content and style.
Components — browse the page's elements and its data sources.
Click any element in the preview to select it ("Nothing selected — Click on any element in the canvas to edit its design." until you do). Edit mode needs Edit permission on the solution — otherwise it's locked with "You need edit access to change this app" — and it's paused while the agent is working ("Can't edit while the agent is working").
When the Preview Shows an Error
Message | What it means | What to do |
|---|---|---|
This page stopped working — "The app hit an error while rendering it." | The app crashed on this page. | Click Fix with Agent. |
Latest build failed — "The last change didn't compile, so the preview can't update." | The most recent change broke the build. | Click Fix with Agent. |
Your app didn't finish building — "The agent stopped mid-build. Continue to resume it." | The agent stopped before the first build was done. | Click Continue. |
Fix with Agent sends the error details to the agent as a request; the button reads Fixing… while it works and Try fix again if the fix didn't produce a new build. Continue asks the agent to carry on building from where it stopped. Neither happens automatically — you choose when to send them.
Error cards are held back while the agent is mid-task, because it usually fixes its own intermediate errors before it finishes.
