Solution Lifecycle and Statuses

3 mins READ

A solution moves from a described problem to a published app in a few stages. This page explains those stages and the status labels you'll see for them on the solutions list and on a solution's Overview page.

Overview

Every solution follows the same broad path: it is planned, then built, then published. Along the way the platform shows where it stands in two places — the Status column on the solutions list, and the Status row in the Details panel of the Overview page. The two are worded differently, and the Overview row is the more detailed of the two.

The Stages of a Solution

  1. Planning — you've described the problem. The Solution agent may ask clarifying questions, then writes a plan.

  2. Plan ready — the plan is written and waiting for approval (in Plan mode), or the agent approves it itself (in Auto mode). See Solution Chat Modes.

  3. Building — the agent creates the objects, workflows and app described in the plan.

  4. Built — the app has a working preview you can try in the builder.

  5. Published — you've published the solution, so its app is live for your users. See Publishing a Solution.

A solution doesn't stop changing once it's built: every further request to the agent can produce a revised plan and another round of building, and you can publish again whenever you're ready.

Status on the Solutions List

Status

What it means

Planning

The solution is new or still being planned.

Building

The agent is building the solution's assets.

Built

The solution has been built and all of its assets finished building.

Partially built

The solution has been built, but at least one of its assets didn't finish building.

Live

The solution is live.

Failed

The build failed.

The list's status and asset counts don't update on their own while the page is open — refresh the list to see a build that has just finished.

Status on the Overview Page

The Overview's Status row is worked out from what the solution actually has — a plan, an approval, built assets, a preview and a publish — so it's the most reliable place to check progress:

Status

What it means

Being planned · nothing built

No plan has been written yet.

Plan published · not built yet

A plan exists but hasn't been approved, and nothing has been built from it.

Building · no preview yet

The plan is approved (or building has started) and the app doesn't have a preview yet.

Built · not published

The app has a working preview but the solution hasn't been published.

Published / Published · vn

The solution has been published, with the version number of the latest publish.

Note: Because the two places work their status out differently, the list and the Overview can briefly disagree — for example, the list may still say Planning while the Overview shows Built · not published. When they differ, trust the Overview.

Asset Build Progress

While a solution is building, the Overview page shows a "Building your solution" card that ticks through four stages as assets finish: Planning, Creating objects, Building workflows and app and Putting it together. The page switches to the built view as soon as the app's preview is ready.
