A skill group is a lightweight way to organize related skills under one name — a folder-like label for skills that belong together.

Overview

A group itself only carries a name and description; it doesn't hold files, tools, or its own version — the skills it contains are the actual assets. For example, you might group all the skills a customer-success agent uses under one label. Use groups to keep a growing skill library tidy and easy to navigate.

Creating a Skill Group

On the Skill Groups list, use Create group. The dialog — Create skill group, "Organize related skills under one group" — asks for:

  • Group name (required) — "e.g. Customer Success."

  • Description — "What is this group for?"

The list shows each group's Name, Created By/Created On, and Last Modified By/Last Modified On. Search with Search skill groups. Each row offers Edit details (to rename or re-describe it) and Delete (which removes the group, not the skills in it). If you have none, it reads No skill groups yet — "Group related skills together."

Adding Skills to a Group

Open a group and use Create skill to make a new skill that belongs to the group from the start. The group's detail page lists its member skills (with their status and version).

Note: The group page also shows Add skills (to pick existing skills) and a Remove action on each member row, but these don't save changes yet. For now, Create skill from the group's page is the only way to put a skill in a group.

Note: Deleting a group never deletes the skills themselves — they remain in the main Skills library.

How Groups Behave Behind the Scenes

Membership is recorded on the skill, not copied into the group — adding a skill to a group tags that skill as belonging to the group, so the skill stays a single asset no matter how many groups or agents reference it. Attaching a group to an agent grants the agent access to the group, and the presence of attached skills or skill groups is what switches on the agent's skill-loading capability. A group also carries a lifecycle status (draft, in approval, live, archived) and can be enabled or disabled as a whole, giving you an on/off switch for a bundle of expertise without touching the member skills.
