How long the platform keeps your data, and what that means for insights history.

Overview

A Settings screen for the workspace's Data Retention policy — "Define the period for which your data can be stored on the platform." It has two settings:

Retention period — "Specify the number of days your data will be stored on our platform before automatic deletion. Enter whole numbers only." The value "must be between one(1) day and the maximum limit of your Data Retention Package."
Job Frequency — "Set how often the data retention job runs to clean up expired data based on the above specified retention period." Options are Daily, Monthly, or Yearly; the default is Daily.

Saving asks you to confirm — "Please confirm before applying any changes to data retention settings" — since shortening retention leads to data being deleted.

FAQs

Why can't I find Data Retention in Settings?

The screen exists at the /settings/data-retention path but currently has no entry in the Settings side navigation, so you won't stumble on it by browsing — reach it directly by URL, or ask your administrator whether retention is managed for your deployment. Retention limits themselves are also plan-bound (the "Data Retention Package" cap on the retention period).

How does retention affect Insights and Observability?

The run history, API-call metrics, and other telemetry behind Insights dashboards are kept only for the configured retention window — a scheduled retention job periodically purges reporting data (automation executions, node executions, API endpoint metrics) older than the configured number of days, and the retention duration can differ per data type. Practically: dashboards' date filters can offer long ranges (up to lifetime), but they can only chart what's still retained, so "last 180 days" shows fewer days on a workspace with shorter retention.

Is retention the same for records stored in Objects?

No — retention here is about platform telemetry and logs. Objects (storage tables) have their own optional Retention period set per object when you create it (a number of minutes, hours, or days, on stores that support it), which auto-deletes records after that duration. Configure that on the object itself, not on this screen.
